Google Learns to Count from 100 to 1000

Google announced this week that Google Reader now has search functionality. I have yet to fully try out the new feature, but the few quick searches I did yesterday worked well.

Also in the announcement was that the unread feed count will now go up to 1000, rather than the old value of 100. Before, if you had over 100 unread feeds the count showed up as 100+, which was a value I saw fairly often. With this value now being 1000 I should not be seeing it at all often – probably only when I return from a week, or more, without checking. Of course, it is possible that the hitting the 100+ indicator was a suggestion that I need to read less feeds!
