Caddihoe Chase - Bovington

The past weekend was the annual south west event - the Caddihoe Chase. Two days of racing, with the second one using a chasing start based on the results from the first day. This year it was a joint WIM/WSX event on Bovington. The north part on day one and the south on day two. Photos from the prizegiving are here.

I am fairly pleased with my results from the two days.

Day one - Bovington North
Day one I spent the first part of the day collecting the trophies being returned and attaching labels to them, which made the prizegiving a lot easier! Now, normally, after doing any job at an event, I find it difficult to concentrate on my run and end up making lots of silly mistakes. This time was different. A fairly clean run.

I was able to keep running ok, which I was especially pleased with after my recent lack of running. The longs legs I approached with confidence, chose a route quickly, and executed it. Must remember that for future days!

Day one - Bovington South
Off in the chasing start. I was able to see where a couple of earlier competitors headed from the start and so run the first leg quickly. Caught a few people up, but made a silly route choice to number four and lost four minutes.

My running was less fluent than the previous day - running two consecutive days was difficult. After the return road crossing I sped up a bit and finished fairly strongly.
