I decided to take a day off work this week and used it to go to the BAOC summer series event at Sandhurst. At the event there were four courses to choose from – a long and a short in the forest and a long and a short urban race in the military academy grounds. I choose to do the long urban race.

The route I took shows that my navigation was reasonable. The detour to the first control was caused by a unmapped wall. The seventh control nearly caught me out – it was at the top of a set of stairs and I did not notice it at first.

I ran fairly well and finished high up in the results, though about seven minutes down on the winner.
