Reading Fetcheveryone Mile
On Saturday afternoon I went and ran a track mile – the first time I had run on a track! This event was organised through the running website Fetcheveryone – combining some running and socialising. Oh, and cake eating!
I went round a few times to warm up and get used to the feel of a track. I then had a quick talk with a few people and decided that I would join the first race with the strategy of going out reasonably fast and trying to stay with the faster people. I ran the mile fairly well. I probably ran the first lap a bit quick and the third a bit too slowly. However, for a first time effort, 5:55 left me happy.
After many others had run the idea of adults running a 100m was made. For some reason I did not run away at this stage but, instead, chose to try that as well. I finished in about 15 seconds.
