Running in the Snow

Running on fresh snow is great – before the snow has time to turn to ice it is not slippery and all you have to do is watch out for covered trip hazards. I ran 3.6 miles this morning – making sure that I was very well wrapped up against the cold before going out. The only times I had trouble with ice were when I was crossing minor, un-gritted, roads, where the cars had already turned the snow to ice. The biggest danger to me this morning was the potential for cars to slid on the ice straight into me.

A group of teenagers threw some snowballs at me. I only noticed this as I saw the snow rebound off me. My layers of clothing meant I had not felt them hit!
